Starkville, MS (Sports Network) - Kore White scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Florida Atlantic Owls to a 61-59 victory over the Mississippi State Bulldogs at Humphrey Stadium.

Brett Royster added 12 points while collecting nine rebounds and blocking four shots in the win for FAU (3-4), while Greg Gantt contributed 12 points as well for the Owls.

Ravern Johnson tallied 18 points to lead Mississippi State (4-1) in the loss, while Kodi Augustus notched 13 points to go with a game-high 10 rebounds. Elgin Bailey chipped in 11 points as well for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs held the Owls to a meager 36.7 percent from the field during the opening frame, opening a 35-29 lead for Mississippi State heading into the break.

The Owls battled back in the second half, however, converting a solid 50.0 percent of their attempts from the floor to earn the two-point win.

The Owls won the battle down low, besting the Bulldogs in the paint by a 38-30 margin.
